Tree Condo House

ANTS!! My neighbor cut trees down, now I am seeing all these little ants coming inside my house.?
I have never had any bug problems, but some people just moved into the townhouse connected to my condo. I came home and saw that they had been cutting down the trees that hung over the duplex and some had fell on my side. Then with in the next day or so, I started to notice little black ants crawling along the wall, ceiling that connects the two units. Its not an overwhleming amount of ants, but ants period is not cool.
So what can I purchase that I can use inside my house and maybe outside as well, that is not messy, loud smelling or posion to my family. Can you purchase something like that at Wal-Marts, etc?
I just cant afford a pest control, right now, may too expensive for ants….
Catch one ant & put it under a magnifying glass. On top of its rear section, is there a couple of tiny yellow ‘hairs’? If yes, you have a major problem starting with carpenter ants. They will find access even through the roof from dropping from tree branches.
There are pellets that can be sprinkled out for them to take to their ‘new’ nest.
Home Defense works wonders on the exposed ants but doesn’t handle the ones already in the walls. Spray on the roof as well as house base & inside.
Spray cheap vegetable oil around base of your home to discourage additional ‘interlopers’. Repeat spray every Spring and Fall and after each heavy rain. Vegetable Oil is environmentally safe, too.
Do aggressive work on them now. Carpenter ants are very destructive in their tunnels through your main frame of the home.
