keeping ferrets outside?
my ferrets are going outside soon and i am buying a 6′x4′ shed. will that be big enough? here is what i want in for them and any suggestions of what i can have or that isn’t safe for them please will be fab =]
lots of nest boxes
hammock
cat dome
cat scratcher
dig box with dirt
large bowl
food bowl
blankets
toys
plant pot
another ferret lol =]
light so i can go in with them at all hours
a ferret heater for the winter
a fan attached to the top corner for the summer
large litter box
puppy fluffy bed
tunnels
large carboard pipe (it’s their favourite toy lol)
their toy box (yes they have a toy box =])
and my uncle is building them a run to attach to the shed another 6′x4′
ropes
tree branches for them to climb
a cat carrier….
is there anything else?

Hi Kelly,
It sounds like you are building a palace for your ferrets
) I am not sure what the weather is like where you live but you should not need a heater for the winter or a fan for the summer … they can cope. Just make sure they have plenty of fresh water to drink in the summer and they will shelter in their nest box in the winter. Put lots of straw in there for their comfort and they should be fine. I feel sure you will take great care of them.
