will a flea collar or flea spray kill ear mites?
No, it will not. And they don’t even kill fleas, either. And store bought crap from WalMart or other stores contains very harsh pesticides that can make your cat very sick.
The only thing that will kill ear mites is medicine from your VET. The quickest – and easiest – solution is a simple dose of Revolution. It kills ear mites and kills and prevents fleas, ticks, heartworm, hookworm and roundworm. You could get one dose and all it would cost you is the vet visit and probably about $15-$20. Another option from the vet is Tresaderm but it has to be applied as drops into the ear and isn’t as effective.
Don’t waste your time with the “home remedies” mentioned here. When there’s mites in there’s also eggs and developing larvae. Drowning them in oil MAY suffocate some of the adult mites but it does NOTHING to the eggs and larvae.
