Scratcher Bed

What is a good dog bed cover for a “nester”?
My female dog has just recently started to “nest” with vigour (she’s NOT pregnant!) She used to do it ages ago then was ok for a while but now it’s started again and I’m so sick of buying new covers for her bed because she just rips through them nearly straight away. She’s well exercised and played with and loved so it’s not an anxiety or boredom thing I don’t think.
Wondering if there was an “indestructible” dog bed cover that she can scratch at but won’t get through? (not the bed itself, she’s not a chewer just a scratcher 
)
Could I make one myself, what sort of fabric should/could I use? Canvas? Denim?
Any ideas?

Oh! She’s a 6 year old Staffy X Kelpie if that helps/matters.
I have Saint Bernard’s so it is hard for me to find beds big enough, so we make them ourselves. I made a cover out of heavy denim, thinking how soft it would feel after a few washings, like a favorite pair of jeans….Wrong! The denim frayed around the zipper, and it is almost impossible to zip now. I also made one out of corduroy that I found at a upholstery fabric store, and it worked great, it really holds up to abuse!! The sales people are pretty knowledgeable, if you tell them what you need it for, they can help you find a good material! Hope this helps!!
