What brand/type of food should I feed my kitten?

I’m adopting a kitten this week (one). He/She will be 9 weeks old. The foster mother has been feeding the kittens Purina Kitten Chow. She said that she has had to buy cheaper food because she’s fostering so many kittens. I was wondering though,which type of food should I buy? Also what items should I defiantly purchase?

So far I’ve bought:

carrier
bed
tidy cats clay litter
couple toys
door hanging scratcher.

what else?

Only feed your cat quality food from pet shops not the grocery store kinds..,they are very bad for your kitty here’s a list of top brands for both dry and canned:
