cat toys!! what are the best toys for a young adult cat…?
i am looking to get a cat from petco and woyuld like to know what i need for the cat as for toys. i know i will need a scratch post. and as for essentials i will need a food/water bowl,litter box,a brush,cat food, treats. i don’t want to buy a lot of toys and the cat not play with them..like my mom bought one of those towers and the cats used it for about a year and now it coolects dust..so what do you think…i have not owned a cat in over 15 years and in realty they where my moms..
Okay first of all, Petco is like a shelter. They don’t bring purebred cats there! They have cats who need loving homes. But if there isn’t a cat you really like, the shelter is a wonderful place for finding cats! I got my cat there and she is AMAZING! She is soo affectionate.
I have a 4 year old cat and her favorite toys are those wands with feathers and bells at the end, string , fake mice with cat nip, hair bands, Q-tips, boxes with open top, and balls with bells in them. With string and the Q-tips I watch her so she doesn’t choke. Any cat will really be happy with little homemade toys. You don’t have to get them a whole load of toys, but if you want to treat them the feather toy is a great one.
As for bowls, if you get stainless steel or with any bowl actually, make sure you wash it out thoroughly once a week. And refill the water every day or every other, because cats when they drink they sometimes will backwash and it just gets gross. Brushes get a brush that goes with the cat’s hair type. I have a short hair so I have a soft bristled brush and then a deshedding wire brush for spring time.
