Any good campgrounds in Southern/Central CA?

I am looking for a tent campground where pets are allowed and there is fishing. If anybody has any suggestions or a site to visit i would greatly appreciate it. I am in Los Angeles and I’m willing to drive 2-3 hours(maybe more)…

if your willing to go a little out of your way than you originally planned on than you should deffinetly go to the sierra nevadas it is the campers/hikers/outdoorsman’s dream not just in california but on the whole west coast of the us the only thing i think you should do is wait until about the end of may it should be in the mid seventies during the day it has the best fishing in all of california it is full of crystal clear streams that are full of trout if this is a possibility i would strongly encourage you too take this life changing trip you will be surrounded by snow capped mountains and huge pine forest that expand out of sight even on top of the mountains and the dog will love it as well as long as it is healthy enough to withstand the high altitude hope i have helped
