What is my kitty kitty doing?
When the window is open my cat usually likes to sit in the sill and listen to the birds singing outside. After awhile she’ll actually start making a weird guttural sound, kind of like a meow but her jaw quivers and it’s longer than a quick meow. Is she trying to sound like the birds so as to fool them? What is my silly kitty doing?
It’s called “cackling” and I agree, it’s pretty weird! Cats usually do it when they want something but can’t get their paws on it, like birds outside or a laser pointer.
