Furminator Deshedding Tool

Has anyone tried ” the Furminator” Deshedding tool???
I was at Petsmart the other day and saw this tool called the Furminator for $34.95. It is for deshedding either cats or dogs. Has anyone tried it and is it worth the money? I would be using it for my cats.
Sorry, have not tried it. Did get the Shed Ender from Linens-n-things for about $12. This has worked well so far for my Alaskan Malamute (thick coated and heavy shedder) and my Siamese cat (she sheds alot!)
