How do I make a donut pet bed?
I’m looking for a simple sewing pattern or a general idea on what pieces to cut.
just take newpaper to use for a pattern. cut an oval the size you want the bottom to be. cut 2 pieces for top and bottom and put cotton batting in between. sew around edge of all layers. measure around outer edge of sewn oval. that number + 4″ and about 8-12″ wide depending on how big you want the donut ring. sew wrong side of length together leaving one edge longer than the other. stuf with fiber fill to desired firmness. for joining, sew short edge of long tube to seam to bottom oval over same seam. then fold and tuck long edge over sewn seams and finish by hand. you will have to finish the joining of the 2 tube ends by hand also. make sure you have a good heavy duty sewing machine and use carpet thread and needle. good luck.
