How often should you refill your cats cat dish?
my cats pretty big, shes an indoor cat so doesn’t excersize much… shes eight years old.
If your cat is overweight, put ONLY ENOUGH food for one day in her dish at one time. Figure out how much food she SHOULD have per day, and put that in her dish……..Don’t refill it until the next day.
If your cat eats it all up before noon, and cries for more….you may have to give her a LITTLE more the first day. Second day, divide the daily ration into 3 “meals”. Put 1/2 in her dish in the morning…..1/4 in her dish around 3 pm, and the other 1/4 in her dish around 7 pm. This way, she’ll get ONLY what she needs, and be able to eat more often.
She probably won’t like this at first, but will lose some of her weight and feel more like being ACTIVE … ( exercise ).
YOU need to PLAY with her….toss toys for her too chase, make a tug of war toy out of a knotted athletic sock, spray some catnip on soft toys and let her play with them. Catnip will usually make a cat “hyper” for a few minutes, and it’s NOT addictive…….
