Cats in apartments?
I am thinking about moving to Australia and will probably be only able to afford an appartment.
I have two cats that are fully house trained, they spend about 90% of their day inside.
Is it cruel to not let cats explore outside and keep them locked in an apartment? Even if you did have cat towers and toys for them?
I’d most likely be home alot of the time so they wouldnt be lonely, but is it cruel?
Definitely NOT cruel.. Most humane societies and rescue groups REQUIRE indoor only homes for the safety of the cat and protection of local wildlife. Since they are the ones that enforce cruelty laws and they require it as a safety measure for cats they adopt out, I think it would be safe to assume it is not cruel..
I have 5 strictly indoor cats myself and none of them even try to go out. If yours already spend 90% of the time inside, they probably don’t care much about going outside anyways..
