Cat Corner Litter

Cat just started peeing outside of the litter box!!!?
My cat was litter trained from the beginning without problem. Now Channy started peeing in the corner of our finished basement/gameroom closet, in the same spot everytime and pooing right outside of his littler box. The box is scooped daily and changed frequently (once a week). Nothing that we can possibly think of in the world has changeed. What can be causing this?
could be a number of things. maybe: attention seeking, maybe you’ve neglected giving him attention without realizing it, maybe he has an infection/cut/or newfound irritation to the cat litter, maybe theres a rodent in the house you’re unaware of
