Why does my cat paw the floor at her water bowl?
My cat stands over her water bowl and paws the area around it before she takes her first drink. Is she trying to not fall in? Odd behavior, and she has done this for her whole life (she’s a 12 y o Tabby). And pretty, if I might add.
I don’t know, but it sounds cute. I have one who alternates between drinking regularly, dipping her paw in it to lick off, or drinking with one of her paws in the bowl. And she switches paws so there’s no pattern there. So, just enjoy their little eccentricities!
