my cat has really bad dandruff?

hi guys, well shes a 7 year old maine cross tortiouse shell, and in the last year and a half shes had bad dandruff, i switched her dry biscuits as suggested and also changed her shampoo that has oatmeal in it, it got a lot better but in the last 3 months right on the start of her tail and lower back, she has a really bad patch of dandruff and i mean its red and has some really small scabs and stuff, i dont know what to do, is there any kind of creams i can use? and yes i know i should take her to the vets, but she gets really stressed whenever i take her out, and she doesnt have a carrier at the moment (aunt commandeered it for her stupid dog) she doesnt seem to be in pain. but im worried that she might not be showing any pain she could be in, ive tried everything, including flea stuff in case it was fleas, a very expensive shampoo and conditioner.

You don’t need the vet. The vet would give a cortisone shot which can lead to diabetes.

Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s health
Contrary to what you may have heard; dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Please read the label on what you are feeding? What are the ingredients? Do you know what they mean? Is the first ingrediant a muscle meat like chicken or meal or other things?

You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn’t have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all.

Cats are meat eaters not cereal or rice eaters
Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. I would rather feed a middle grade canned food then the top of the line dry food.
