Any Size Cat

Any advice on what kind of dog to get when already own a cat?
I asked this question in the dog category, but wanted opinoin of cat owners also. We want a small to medium sized dog. Our cat is 2 years old and neutered, but not declawed. We have a big house and yard, but it is not fenced in. Any breeds you can recommend?
Also will the cat spray when another animal is brought in house. He has never sprayed before.
If your cat is neutered and hasn’t sprayed before, he probably isn’t going to start spraying now even with a new animal in the house. Why don’t you just go to the shelter and see which dogs get along with cats? The animals there are vaccinated, fixed and temperament-tested already.
Whatever kind of dog you get, the most important part is the introduction. Make it VERY gradual – maybe through a door for a week and then put one of them in a secure carrier and let the other come around and sniff. Don’t be anxious or freaked out and the animals won’t be either.
