What is the best method for removing old cat urine stains from concrete?
I have cat urine stains on my concrete floor that have accumulated over a 9 year period of time. It soaked through the carpet and padding which I have removed from the house. As of now I’m trying the 1 quart of 3% Peroxide, 1 tsp baking soda and dash of dish washing liquid method as well as 50/50 vinegar and water.
I let both methods dry on the concrete and did not blot it up with a cloth. I have a case of Anti Icky Poo enzyme cleaner coming in and I also plan on sealing the areas after treating them with kilz.
Am I going about this the right way?
Is it okay that I’m not blotting up the home remedies and letting them soak in and dry on the concrete instead?
Should I be mopping the areas with water after treating them with the home remedies?
There is a product called “Nature’s Miracle” which works very well for removing pet odors and stains. They even have a product where they have combined Nature’s Miracle with OxyClean which is fantastic on carpeting (never tried it on concrete but am confident it will do the job very well) and I would definitely mop the area afterward because other remedies may further stain the area in question.
